Join the Scallywompus race on September 18, 2027, for an unforgettable run through Salado Creek. Part of the Alamo Beer Series Challenge 2027, this year's Battle of Salado Creek offers a variety of distances to cater to all runners: a half marathon (13.1 miles), two different runs at 5 and 10 miles, and a fun-filled 5k walk or run.
The event kicks off with the half marathon starting promptly at 5:30 PM, followed by the 10-mile race at 6:00 PM, the 5-mile route beginning at 6:30 PM, and both walker and runner categories for the 5k commencing shortly after at 6:45 PM. Each participant will receive a detailed course map available online to help plan their run.
Packet pickup is scheduled on Friday from 12:00 AM (to be confirmed) or Saturday starting at 4:30 PM until race start times, ensuring you have all necessary items before the big day begins.
The Battle of Salado Creek promises more than just a challenging course. Post-race festivities feature food and beer to celebrate your achievement while enjoying camaraderie with fellow runners in an inclusive environment welcoming participants of all ages.
Entry fees vary by distance: $99 for the half marathon, $60 for 10 miles, $50 for 5 miles, and $45 for the 5k. Prices increase if registered less than two weeks before the event date, with a final surge on race day itself. Early registration also guarantees your preferred shirt size.
Age group awards are given to first through fourth place finishers based strictly on chip timing, ensuring accuracy in results across all categories. All runners and walkers must adhere to specific guidelines for accurate tracking and recognition of their efforts.
