The 2026 Uxbridge Run for the Diamond returns to Uxbridge, Ontario on Sunday, June 14th, where it has been a beloved community event since its inception in 1997. This year’s race offers participants three exciting distances: the 5K Trail Run/Walk and Kids Dash, as well as the 10K Trail Run/Walk for those aged 16 years and over.
Race morning finds runners gathering at Uxbridge Regional Park, a sprawling green space nestled in the heart of Uxbridge. The park is surrounded by mature trees that offer a natural setting with views of rolling hills and tranquil trails. On race day, expect temperatures around 20 to 25 degrees Celsius, making for comfortable conditions despite the UV index being at Very High levels.
The Run for the Diamond has a rich history spanning nearly two decades. Over the years, it has grown from a small community event into one that attracts hundreds of participants annually, each contributing their efforts towards raising funds for Uxbridge Hospital through the Uxbridge Hospital Auxiliary. The race not only brings together families and friends but also strengthens local ties as everyone comes out to support this vital cause.
The course begins at Uxbridge Regional Park and follows a firm and slightly soft trail, winding through picturesque landscapes before reaching the finish line back in the park. For those participating in the 10K distance, there are notable features such as several turns that add challenge but also scenic views along the way. Alongside these routes, runners will enjoy the support of aid stations strategically placed to ensure hydration and nutrition throughout their journey.
Weather conditions on June 14th can be quite sunny with a UV index rating at Very High levels, meaning it’s important for participants to wear appropriate sunscreen and stay hydrated. Temperatures are expected in the comfortable range between 20 to 25 degrees Celsius, with minimal chance of rain or other precipitation.
