The race kicks off with two categories designed for all ages and abilities: a 10 km run starting at 9:15 am and a 5 km walk/run beginning shortly after at 9:30 am. In addition, there's a one-kilometer fun walk for those who prefer to enjoy the scenery at a more leisurely pace, set to start at 10:00 am. Participants will be treated to stunning views of Edmonton’s river valley as they navigate through scenic trails and parks. The event takes place in Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park, specifically at Picnic Site #813221 Buena Vista Rd NW, where the atmosphere is vibrant with community support and camaraderie. Race organizers are committed to ensuring a memorable experience for everyone involved, offering complimentary participant t-shirts and goodie bags upon registration. Refreshments such as coffee, snacks, and other treats will be available throughout the day to keep participants energized and engaged. The Run Like the Windpipe fundraiser aims to raise funds for global surgical care partnerships focused on education, training, and improving access to specialized airway and reconstructive care worldwide.
