The Mutt Strut 2026 5K returns to Edmonton, Alberta on Saturday, August 29th, a community event celebrating dogs and humans coming together for a good cause.

Since its inception nine years ago, Mutt Strut has grown from a small community event into one of the region's most beloved annual gatherings. Over the past eight events, it has attracted thousands of participants, raising significant funds for Greater Edmonton Animal Rescue Society (GEARS), which focuses on rescuing and rehoming animals in need.
The course offers a 5K run/walk through Hermitage Park’s firm yet slightly soft terrain, perfect for both runners and walkers. The route is primarily flat with some gentle undulations providing a pleasant challenge to those looking for an enjoyable race experience amidst nature. On August 29th, participants can look forward to starting their journey at 8:00 AM in preparation for the 5K run/walk that begins exactly one hour later.
