2026 Goheung Space Aviation Marathon

The Goheung Space Aviation Marathon Festival invites runners of all ages to explore the scenic beauty of Goheung while embracing themes inspired by space exploration. Set against the backdrop of Dadohae, known for its stunning seascape, this marathon festival offers a unique blend of athletic challenge and cultural celebration.
Scheduled for October 9, 2026, at Park Ji-sung Public Stadium in Goheung, registration begins at 8:00 a.m., with the race starting promptly at 9:00 a.m. The event features three distinct courses catering to various levels of runners:
- A 5 km run for all ages from toddlers who can walk and beyond.
- A 10 km course open only to middle school students and older participants.
- A half marathon option, also exclusive to those aged 13 years or above.
Each race has its own time limit: one hour for the 5 km event, two hours for the 10 km run, and three hours for the Half Marathon. The festival ensures a fair competition by using chip timing for both the 10 km and half marathon courses. Participants who do not meet these designated start times will be ineligible for awards.
Organized jointly by the Goheung County Sports Council, the Goheung County Athletics Federation, and the Korea Marathon Association (Jeonmahyup), this event promises a memorable experience with its picturesque setting and engaging theme of reaching towards space.
