La media maratón más antigua de Acadiana es la pista de atletismo más hermosa de Lafayette. Los corredores tienen la opción de elegir entre carreras en ruta o carreras de trail. Las opciones de distancia de carrera en ruta incluyen: 1/2 maratón, 10k o 5k; mientras que las opciones de trail running incluyen 5k o 10k.

Cajun Country Run (CCR) comenzó en 2002 y se convirtió en el principal patrocinador de TRAIL en 2010. Hoy en día, el evento ofrece 5 opciones de carrera. Las opciones de carreras en ruta incluyen media maratón (un circuito único y certificado por la USATF), 10K (certificado por la USATF) y 5K. Dos recorridos de senderos incluyen 10K y 5K que ofrecen una combinación de secciones de cross country y de pista única. El recorrido de 10 km te llevará por algunos tramos técnicos a lo largo de las orillas del río Vermilion.

El sello distintivo del CCR son los trofeos caseros con cabezas de cocodrilo, cortesía de Cajun Ben. El recorrido original de media maratón era un recorrido de doble circuito que incluía 4 millas de carrera a campo traviesa. En 2014, cambiamos el recorrido de media maratón a un recorrido de circuito único y lo certificamos por la USATF.

Los ingresos del CCR han permitido a T.R.A.I.L. para trabajar en Acadiana Park y sus alrededores. En 2012 T.R.A.I.L. Compré una propiedad para agregarla a Acadiana Park & Nature Station. TRAIL también ha ayudado a financiar algunas mejoras al sistema de senderos para bicicletas de montaña construido y mantenido por Mountain Bike Lafayette.
