50th Anniversary Shinshun Hashirokai - Hirakata Half Marathon (第50回記念「新春走ろうかい」-ひらかたハーフマラソン-)

The 50th Hirakata Half Marathon, under the slogan of an easy-going run for everyone, is run on the flat Yodogawa riverbank in Hirakata with support for first-time racers. Bibs and timing tags are mailed a week before the race, and wave starts ease crowding at the start, changing rooms and toilets. Runners are grouped by declared time in blocks of 300.
Events are the half marathon (including a special class for runners within 1:30:00 for men or 1:50:00 for women), 10 km, 5 km, a 2 km jogging event and 2 km races for elementary and junior high students. The race is held on Coming-of-Age Day, so it features a Twenty-Year-Old category in which new adults run in kimono, hakama or suits. The men's and women's half marathon winners are invited to the Osaka Marathon 2028. A New Year Lucky Prize lottery is held for entrants, and the half marathon, general and visually impaired categories receive a long-sleeve T-shirt at an extra 1,800 yen.
Anniversary extras include a hotel stay package at SPA and HOTEL Suisyun Matsuiyamate with free shuttle to the venue (18,540 yen for one guest, 14,260 yen per person for two), a rogaining experience at 500 yen per team, a finisher muffler towel for half, general and visually impaired participants, and a local Hirakata sweet with a sports drink for every finisher.
