Whale Rock Trail Run

Whale Rock Trail Run returns on February 28, 2027, offering runners of all levels an unforgettable experience within Pennant Hills Park. This year's edition includes three trail courses: the challenging 17km route for experienced athletes; a new addition, the scenic 12km course ideal for those looking to step up from the shorter distances; and the family-friendly 6.5km Fun Run that caters perfectly to beginners or those seeking an easy-paced adventure.
The event kicks off at Ern Holmes Oval with staggered start times: the 17km Challenge run begins at 7:55 AM, followed by the 12km Adventure run at 8:20 AM and the Kids Athletics fun zone starting from 8:00 AM. The 6.5km Fun Run starts promptly at 8:30 AM.
Participants will enjoy stunning views of Pennant Hills Park's lush trails and forests, with aid stations providing hydration and snacks throughout the course. All runners receive a finisher’s medal, while kids in the Athletics event get participation certificates. Winners are awarded trophies and spot prizes, adding an extra layer of excitement to the competition.
The event village features live music, food trucks, and activities for both spectators and participants, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the day's festivities. Families can also take advantage of discounts when registering groups of four or more individuals.
Whale Rock Trail Run is not just about running; it’s a celebration of community spirit with opportunities to support mental health initiatives through fundraising efforts for Gotcha4Life Foundation.
