Key West Half Marathon

Experience the charm and beauty of Key West during the annual Key West Half Marathon, held mid-January. The race begins at 7 a.m., offering runners a chance to explore the island’s historic Old Town and waterfront areas on a flat, fast course that stretches for 13.1 miles.
The half-marathon route is largely an out-and-back path along the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail, providing stunning views of the aqua blue Atlantic Ocean. The trail offers a smooth surface perfect for setting personal bests or enjoying the scenery at a leisurely pace.
For those looking for something shorter but equally rewarding, there’s also a 5K Run starting shortly after the half-marathon begins. Both events showcase Key West's unique blend of history and natural beauty, making it an ideal destination for runners seeking both challenge and charm.
Packet pickup and race expo activities take place at the Half Shell Raw Bar, one of Key West’s most beloved seafood restaurants. Located conveniently close to the finish line, this iconic venue is a perfect spot to refuel after crossing the finish line with cold drinks, fresh oysters, and lively conversations that capture the essence of island life.
The race not only celebrates athletic achievement but also embraces the laid-back spirit of Key West, where runners can enjoy both competition and camaraderie in equal measure.
