Kékes Iconic Trail

The Kékes Iconic Trail offers runners an exhilarating journey through the rugged Mátra Mountains of northern Hungary. This trail-running event takes place on March 6, 2027, and is centered around Kékestető, the highest peak in Hungary at 1,014 metres above sea level. The route follows marked paths adorned with ribbons and signs, leading runners through a landscape that transitions between winter and spring, characterized by fluctuating temperatures and varying snow conditions.
Participants will experience the unique high-altitude climate of Kékestető as they tackle challenging ascents towards this iconic peak. The Mátra Mountains are known for their dense forests and panoramic vistas, providing breathtaking scenery throughout the race course. Medical support, refreshments, electronic time measurement, photography stations, and post-race shower facilities ensure a safe and comfortable experience.
