Welcome back to the Thetford Festival of Running, now entering its second year at High Lodge within the serene grounds of Thetford Forest. This intimate gathering invites runners from all walks of life to come together and celebrate their passion for running across a variety of distances including 5k, 10k, Half Marathon, Full Marathon, and Ultra Marathon. Participants can look forward to an exclusive experience as we take over the main area with access to ample open space within Thetford Forest. The route features a continuous loop that winds through pathways and trails, offering runners stunning views of the woodland surroundings while they challenge themselves against their personal bests or simply enjoy the scenic beauty around them. A key highlight is the water station conveniently placed at each lap point, ensuring participants don't have to worry about carrying extra supplies. The event also offers discounted parking on race day for all competitors and a warm welcome area set up adjacent to Oak Lodge where runners can register and refuel with complimentary teas, coffee, and cake post-race. Each finisher will receive a bespoke medal commemorating their achievement at the Thetford Festival of Running. For those interested in the lucky dip option (if available), there's also an opportunity to choose from previous event medals as part of your prize package. The course itself is well-maintained and primarily consists of pathways, with some sections leading through trails and woodland areas – a true blend of nature’s beauty and athletic challenge. Event organizers recommend wearing road running shoes but suggest bringing trail runners if the weather conditions warrant it for added comfort on uneven terrain. Please note that this event operates under a cupless policy; therefore, participants are encouraged to bring their own cups or bottles for refilling at water stations throughout the course. Additionally, 20% of your entry fee goes directly towards supporting the upkeep and conservation efforts within Thetford Forest.
