Yokohama Marathon Preview Run Organized by RDC RUN CLUB, the Yokohama Marathon Preview Run aims to provide participants with an enjoyable and well-supported experience ahead of the main 2026 Yokohama Marathon. This event has been running for nine consecutive years since its inception in 2018, ensuring that runners are fully prepared for race day. Date: Saturday, October 10, 2026 The Preview Run is designed to cater specifically to full marathon participants with a target finish time ranging from 3 hours and 30 minutes to completion. The event features group-paced runs tailored to different speed categories: approximately 5:30 min/km, 6:00 min/km, 6:30 min/km, 7:00 min/km, and 8:00 min/km. Participants will gather at the Sakura-machi Station Plaza in Yokohama City by 7:30 AM for registration. After a brief warm-up session led independently by each runner, participants move to the starting point near the iconic Landmark Tower by 8:20 AM sharp. The run kicks off promptly at 8:30 AM and covers approximately 21 kilometers of scenic coastal paths. The course offers an opportunity for runners to familiarize themselves with key sections of the full marathon route, providing a realistic preview of what lies ahead on race day. Each group is accompanied by experienced pacesetters who will ensure that participants remain within their target pace range and are supported throughout the run. After completing the 21-kilometer course, runners can expect to finish at Shinzukada Park near JR Shinzukada Station. Participants should plan for occasional stops every five kilometers where they may purchase drinks from vending machines or convenience stores if needed. To ensure safety and smooth operation of the event, each participant must carry a smartphone with prepaid transportation cards (Suica/Pasmo) or cash as required by organizers. No personal belongings will be stored during the run; runners are advised to carry their essentials on them at all times. The entry fee for this exclusive preview run is 3,300 yen per person, and it accommodates up to one hundred participants divided into groups of twenty each. Led by renowned coaches such as Yagi Takeshi and Ishibashi Yasutaka, the Preview Run promises a comprehensive training experience that includes personalized guidance from experienced pacesetters who will provide support throughout the run.
