On Sunday, April 4th, 2027, runners from around the globe are invited to experience the Yeovil Half Marathon, set against the backdrop of scenic Somerset. The race begins and concludes in the heart of Yeovil Town Centre, offering participants a vibrant start line surrounded by enthusiastic supporters. The route takes competitors through fully closed roads right into Ninesprings County Park, where runners will traverse its entire length amidst lush greenery and serene surroundings. After leaving the park behind, the course winds westward to Montacute, a picturesque village known for its historic charm and stunning countryside views. However, there's little time to pause as you continue onto quiet country roads leading towards Ball’s Hill. As you crest the hilltop at Ball’s Hill, it marks the beginning of an exhilarating descent back into Yeovil. The final miles are filled with cheering crowds lining the streets, creating a lively and supportive atmosphere that propels runners through to the finish line in town centre. Upon crossing the finish line, participants will be presented with their bespoke metal finishers medals, which have been praised for being better than ever before. Throughout the race, volunteers acting as pacemakers will guide athletes aiming to achieve specific times along the course. These dedicated volunteers are easily identifiable by pacer flags and t-shirts and can provide guidance on pacing strategies or answer any questions runners might have. Three water stations equipped with cups ensure that hydration needs are met throughout this challenging yet rewarding half marathon journey. It’s important for all participants to adhere to UKA Rule T55 S5, which permits the use of bone-conducting headphones only during races. For this event, while Bone Conducting Headphones will be allowed, in-ear or non-bone conducting models are strictly prohibited. Join us on April 4th, 2027, for an unforgettable day filled with scenic beauty and community spirit.
