WoodChippr Gravel Fondo

The WoodChippr is set to offer an exhilarating experience for gravel enthusiasts this season with three distinct distance options: Short, Medium, and Long. Each route remains a closely guarded secret until race day but will range from 30 to 130 miles, ensuring there's a challenge suitable for every level of participant.
For the Short Course, detailed maps and signs will guide you through picturesque landscapes. For those opting for longer distances, RideWithGPS offers printable queue sheets or navigation tools on your bike computer or phone. The routes are typically released well in advance to ensure smooth planning.
Safety is paramount, with mandatory helmet use required. A rear light and headlight are recommended as these roads see public traffic. Headphones are discouraged due to potential safety concerns.
This event continues a cherished tradition by the 501c3 club, aiming to keep alive the spirit of gravel riding in this region during late summer or early fall. The self-supported nature allows for exploration at your own pace; however, small towns along the route offer refueling opportunities with convenience stores and water points.
A mass start option is available for those who wish to compete. Each distance will have a designated starting time where participants can join in a competitive race environment. Top honors await: podium awards for first, second, and third place (men's and women's) across all categories.
Terrain diversity adds an extra layer of challenge with significant elevation changes that may slow you down compared to flat surfaces. Gravel conditions here might also be different from what you're accustomed to, so it’s wise to plan accordingly by bringing additional hydration and nutrition beyond your usual supplies.
