Winchester 10K

The Winchester 10K Road Race, established in 1983 as a 10-mile course and later shortened to the popular 10km format, invites runners for its annual edition on Sunday, February 21st, 2027. Starting at the historic Winchester Guildhall in The Broadway, the race begins with an impressive display of local history near the King Alfred Statue.
Runners will embark on a scenic route that weaves through both urban and countryside landscapes, offering stunning views along St George's Street before heading out to Kingsworthy village. Upon returning, participants pass through Headbourne Worthy en route back to Winchester, where they finish at The North Walls Recreation Centre. This mix of city streets and rural paths provides a unique blend of challenges and scenery.
With over 1500 runners expected this year, the event promises an electrifying atmosphere that energizes both competitors and spectators alike. Each participant receives chip timing for accurate results and an exclusive finisher medal upon completion.
Volunteers are also needed to help ensure smooth race operations; sign up here to contribute or earn a credit voucher towards future events. Community groups can secure a £200 donation by participating as volunteers.
Road closures will begin at 8:15 AM, with diversions in place until approximately 10:15 AM when the streets reopen following the race's conclusion. Detailed maps and routes are available online for those planning their day around the event.
Participants are encouraged to adhere to a code of conduct that promotes respect, support, and good sportsmanship throughout the competition.
Registration opens at 7:15 AM with an official mass start scheduled for 8:30 AM. The course will remain open until 10:30 AM.
