Set against the picturesque backdrop of Wrockwardine Wood near Donnington Telford, the upcoming Orienteering Day offers runners and enthusiasts an engaging day out on October 4th, 2026. The venue provides a mix of woodland trails with well-defined paths and urban streets for longer courses, ensuring there's something to suit all skill levels. Registration opens at Oakengates Leisure Centre from 10am until noon, giving participants ample time to sign up and prepare before the event starts promptly at 10:30 am. The day features a variety of challenging routes including Brown, Blue, Green (including Short Green, Very short Green, Light Green), Orange, Yellow, and White courses. Note that runners on the Brown, Blue, and Green tracks will encounter road crossings. Entry fees are £10 for adults, £3 for juniors, and £12 for non-BOF members, with limited entries available on the day based on map availability. Registration is cash or card only. Participants can also hire a Sportident electronic punching device at £1 per dibber; however, lost devices will incur an additional charge of £40. The leisure centre serves as the hub for all activities, offering registration, equipment drop-off (EOD), and download services along with toilets throughout the day.
