WAYPOINT MOLLEKENSFEST GRAVEL

On Saturday, August 29th, Waypoint Leuven partners with Fun On Wheels and the Municipality of Herent to present the Waypoint Mollekesfest Gravel Race. This unique gravel cycling experience takes place during the lively Mollekesfest festival in Belgium.
The event offers three distinct routes catering to different levels of endurance and adventure:
- A 45-kilometer course that challenges riders with a full day's ride without any scheduled rest stops.
- A 60-kilometer route, which includes one opportunity for refreshment along the way plus a complimentary coffee stop.
- The longest option is a grueling 90-kilometer journey featuring two opportunities to refuel and hydrate, complemented by an additional free coffee break.
Participants are encouraged to start anytime between 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM. Online registration opens until August 24th, providing early registrants with a detailed GPX file via email for route planning. Fees vary depending on the distance chosen; online entries cost between €7 and €11 plus an additional transaction fee of €0.50, while day-of registrations range from €8 to €12.
It's important to note that all routes are not marked with physical signs or arrows, requiring participants to navigate using a GPS device throughout the ride. This adds an element of self-reliance and adventure for cyclists looking to explore the scenic Belgian countryside at their own pace during this festive event.
