The Mancomunidad Intermunicipal de la Vera, alongside the Área de Dinamización Deportiva de la Vera and several local municipalities including Cuacos de Yuste, Aldeanueva de la Vera, Guijo de Santa Bárbara, and Jarandilla de la Vera, in collaboration with the hiking club of Cuacos de Yuste, is proud to present the sixth edition of the Viriato a Carlos V Senderist Route. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, October 18, 2026. The route offers participants an immersive journey through the stunning landscapes of Extremadura, connecting historical sites that span centuries of Spanish history. The trail begins at Cuacos de Yuste and winds its way to Jarandilla de la Vera, with stops along the way where hikers can explore ancient Roman ruins and delve into the rich cultural heritage of the region. The route is part of both the Camina Extremadura 2026 Circuit and the Euroace Sport 2026 Circuit.
