Vårruset - Växjö

The 2026 Vårruset Växjö is a premier women's social running event scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2026. Part of a nationwide series, the Växjö edition invites participants to run, jog, or walk around the scenic Växjösjön lake. The event emphasizes community and the joy of movement, featuring a vibrant atmosphere at the Strandbjörket event area and a tradition of post-race social activities for teams.

Växjö is the administrative capital of Kronoberg County, known as the "Greenest City in Europe," with a population of approximately 71,000 residents. The demographic is characterized by a high proportion of students and professionals, partly due to Linnaeus University. The median annual household income is roughly 320,000 SEK. Geographically, the city is situated in the heart of Småland, surrounded by forests and lakes, with the race course providing a flat and picturesque loop around Lake Växjö. In mid-May, the climate is typically refreshing; average temperatures on May 11th range from a low of 6°C to a high of 16°C, with long daylight hours as the Swedish spring transitions toward summer.

Registration includes a commemorative medal, a finish line bag, and participation in the Vårruset music quiz. For those forming a Team of 5, a complimentary picnic is provided to enjoy after crossing the finish line. Participants can choose between timed or non-timed results for the 5km distance. Race bibs are distributed at Intersport Växjö on select dates (May 4, 6, and 8) between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
