Valley of the Owls Run

The Valley of The Owls Race invites runners from across Suffolk to explore its picturesque landscapes on June 6th, 2027. This race offers multiple distance options: the half marathon (21.4 km), full marathon (42.8 km), ultra-marathon (beyond a full marathon looped), and shorter distances of 5k and 10k.
The event starts at Suffolk Running Centre in Bury St Edmunds, offering participants a variety of routes depending on their preference and endurance level. The half marathon route follows the scenic Dalham Kiln path, a hilly yet manageable terrain with an elevation gain of 191 meters over its looped course. For runners opting for shorter distances like the 5k or 10k, they will experience the Denham Flats Route, known as one of the flattest routes out from Suffolk Running Centre.
The Dalham Kiln route winds through quiet lanes and rural villages before reaching a turnaround point at around 5.2 km for those participating in shorter events. This creates an atmosphere that encourages social interaction among runners who will be retracing their steps back to the start line, making it a friendly and supportive environment.
For longer distance participants aiming for full or ultra-marathon achievements, the race offers continuous loops of the challenging yet rewarding Dalham Kiln route, with aid stations every 10k providing essential hydration and snacks. The race starts at 9 am sharp, adhering to a seven-hour cut-off time.
Parking is included in your entry fee, ensuring that participants can focus solely on their run without worrying about transportation logistics. Upon crossing the finish line, all runners will receive an exclusive Bespoke medal designed specifically for this event, celebrating their achievement and dedication.
The race organizers encourage sustainability by asking participants to bring reusable bottles or cups instead of disposable ones at aid stations. Additionally, only bone conductor headphones are permitted on the course due to traffic safety concerns along open roads.
