UP & RUNNING: Guy Fawkes 10 (2026)

The Guy Fawkes 10 returns to Pateley Bridge, nestled within the picturesque Nidderdale valley of North Yorkshire, for another thrilling and challenging race on Sunday, November 1, 2026. This beloved annual event invites runners from across the region to experience a course that combines stunning rural landscapes with an invigorating mix of hills and flat stretches.
Starting at Pateley Bridge Show Ground, participants will embark on a route that ventures through the charming village of Bewerley before heading towards Glasshouses along winding roads. The race then takes an interesting turn as runners traverse a farm track near Darce Banks, offering glimpses into local farmland. As you continue, the course ascends to Dacre and winds around Heyshaw and Nought Moor, providing breathtaking views over rolling hills.
The latter half of the route features exhilarating descents back towards Bewerley, followed by one final climb that leads runners back to Pateley Bridge for a grand finish at the show ground. Along the way, two drink stations will provide essential hydration approximately 3.5 miles and 7.5 miles into the race.
Race officials ensure safety throughout with qualified first aid assistance stationed both on course and at Race HQ located just three minutes away from the start line at Pateley Bridge Primary School. Prize giving takes place promptly after the event, around noon, allowing participants to celebrate their achievements right away.
Participants are encouraged to arrive early for number collection and parking as directed by race organizers. While public toilets in town offer additional convenience beyond those available near the start area, no changing or bag storage facilities will be provided at Race HQ.
The Guy Fawkes 10 is designed exclusively for runners on foot; unfortunately, wheelchairs and dogs are not permitted due to safety concerns regarding both road users and working farmland along the route. To maintain a safe environment, participants must adhere strictly to race guidelines: no headphones during the event or briefing sessions to ensure clear communication with officials at all times.
In case of unforeseen circumstances preventing the race from taking place, refunds cannot be issued as many expenses are incurred in advance; entries also cannot be rolled over to subsequent years.
