Get ready to lace up your running shoes and join us for the Unity in Motion 5K – a vibrant, community-focused race that celebrates Minnesota's resilient and diverse communities through the spirit of healthy living! Whether you're a seasoned runner, a casual jogger, or a family looking for a fun outing, this race welcomes all members of the community.

Event Highlights:

5K + 10k Races: Challenge yourself with a 5K or 10k run, or walk, through the beautifully maintained trails of Palmer Lake Park.

CAPI-bara Crawl: Sign your young children up for the CAPI -bara Crawl! This short race across a field and back is for kids age 10 and younger. All kids leave with an award, themed around a CAPI capybara, for joining the race.

Unity Village: After the race, explore our Unity Village featuring a children's race + activities, live music, and food – a perfect place to relax and enjoy a post-race cool down.

Medals & Prizes: Medals for the top 3 5k + 10k finishers for men, women, and children under 16. ALl youth in CAPI-bara crawl receive a participation medal.

Fundraising Focus: Proceeds from the event will support CAPI's work providing support to Minnesota's immigrant and refugee population, making every step you take contribute to a greater cause. We encourage all runners to sign up for their own fundraising page - encouraging family and friends to support your race to make a difference!

About Brooklyn Center

Brooklyn Center is a first-ring suburban city in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area. In 1911, the area became a village formed from parts of Brooklyn Township and Crystal Lake Township. In 1966, Brooklyn Center became a charter city. The city has commercial and industrial development. The majority of land use is single-family homes. The population was 33,782 at the 2020 census, and the city has become the most ethnically diverse community in the state.
