The ULTRATACO 2026 is one of the most iconic races in the Trail Runner Series in El Salvador, blending the natural beauty of the "Ruta de las Flores" with high-level physical demands. Scheduled for Sunday, May 24, 2026, the race traverses the municipalities of Concepción de Ataco and Apaneca, offering runners a mix of cloud forests, coffee plantations, and panoramic views toward the Pacific coast.

Event Logistics and Participant Information:

• -- Venue and Finish Line: All distances start and finish at the Central Park of Concepción de Ataco, Ahuachapán.
• -- Race Format: The event operates under a semi-self-sufficiency format, meaning each runner must carry their own mandatory gear and supplies between aid stations.
• -- Time Cut-offs (55KM): There are two critical checkpoints for the ultra distance:
  • -- Aid Station 4 (Apaneca, KM 22.9): 5 hours 30 minutes limit (Cut-off at 10:30 AM).
  • -- Aid Station 6 (Finca Baviera, KM 42.1): 8 hours 30 minutes limit (Cut-off at 1:30 PM).
• -- Mandatory Gear (Long Distances): For the 55K and 30K, it is essential to carry a headlamp, 1.5L of hydration, a whistle, a bib number with chip, a cell phone, power snacks, and technical trail running footwear.
• -- Kit Delivery: Kits will not be delivered on the day of the event. Pick-up dates are:

  • -- Concepción de Ataco: Saturday, May 23, at the Central Park (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM).
• -- Suggested Parking: Due to local traffic restrictions, the FUNDATACO soccer field is exclusively reserved for participants. The cost is $3.00, covering parking from Saturday through Sunday.
• -- Sustainability: All runners are required to bring their own hydration pack or reusable cup, as the race aims to minimize waste impact on the mountain trails.
