About the Event

Explore the ancient, wildlife-rich prairies of the Ocala National Forest on a challenging, grassroots adventure at the Two Prairies Ultra, March 14, 2026. This free, capped-entry 'Fat Ass' event offers a demanding 50k and a scenic 30k, both following the historic Florida Trail through the stunning Juniper Wilderness area. With a unique two-part out-and-back course from the Pat's Island Trailhead, runners experience the breathtaking expanse of Juniper and Hopkins Prairies, some of Florida's oldest and most ecologically significant landscapes.

While there is no entry fee, participation is strictly limited to 50 runners to protect the fragile environment and due to limited parking, with carpooling strongly encouraged. In the spirit of supporting the trails, a donation to the Florida Trail Association is suggested to help maintain the 1,500-mile pathway. Secure one of the coveted spots for a pure, self-supported wilderness run where the reward is immersion in Florida's unique and rugged natural beauty.
