Turkey Trot of Morgan County

3M Decatur is proud to host its 10th Annual Turkey Trot of Morgan County, appropriately on Thanksgiving morning, in Downtown Decatur, AL! People of all ages are encouraged to participate in the 5K event, the 1-mile Fun Run/Walk, and the 5K CrossFit Challenge! This event benefits the United Way of Morgan County, and all proceeds will go to this organization. We hope you'll come out on Thanksgiving morning to visit with friends and family in town for the holiday, burn some calories to make some room for the Thanksgiving feast, and support an organization making a difference in our community!

Registration costs are $30 for the 5K event, $25 for the 1-mile event, and $35 for the CrossFit Challenge, with every participant who registers before November 3rd is guaranteed to receive a t-shirt. All prices will increase by $5 on November 3, 2025.

The 5K Run and 5K CrossFit Challenge begin at 8 AM, and the One Mile Fun Run begins at 9 AM. See you there!
T-shirt/Packet pick up will be Wednesday, Nov. 26th at the Cross Eyed Owl Brewery from 4:00 pm until 6:30 pm and Thursday, Nov. 27th before the race from 6:45 am to 7:30 am at First Baptist Church. Restrooms will be available at First Baptist Church. More details will be provided closer to the event.

Packet pickup locations and times:
Wednesday, November 26, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm at Cross Eyed Owl (105 1st Avenue NE)
Thursday, November 27, 2024, from 6:45 am to 7:30 am at First Baptist Church on Church Street.

Packet pickup information for pre-registered runners:
At either pickup event, line up at the table that has the sign for pre-Registered Pickup”.
You will need to provide your name and then will receive your t-shirt, swag bag, race bib, and pens.
You may pick up for multiple people but will have to follow the procedure for each racer and bib number.

Registration and Packet Pickup for new runners:
At either pickup event, line up at the table that has the sign for “same-day registration”.
You will need to complete the sign-up sheet, sign the waiver, and pay for the registrations at this table.
You will then receive a race bib for the new registrants.  A swag bag and t-shirt will also be supplied as supplies last.
You will need to proceed to the River City Runners table to match your bib number with your record to ensure proper identification during the race.
If registering new runners and picking up pre-registered runners, please complete packet pickup at both locations before proceeding to the River City Runners to verify numbers.

Race Day information:
The 5K and 5K plus CrossFit Challenge will start promptly at 8 am in from of First Baptist Church, which is located at 123 Church St NE.  There will be signs showing the starting line for the race.
The 1-mile fun run will start promptly at 9 am in front of First Baptist church as well.  There will be signs showing the “starting line” for the race.
Parking will be available around Old State Bank and First Baptist Church.
The restrooms at Old State Bank will be open for use and First Baptist Church restrooms in the foyer will be available.  If needed, be sure to use these ahead of race time.
There will be signs at the two WOD locations for the CrossFit Challenge, which are located near the NARCOG building (216 Jackson St SE) and the Carnegie building (207 Church St NE) parking lot area.  If you are part of the CrossFit Challenge, make sure to stop at these locations and complete the workouts posted at each spot.  Warrior CrossFit volunteers will be at both locations if you have any questions.
Race results will be posted near the finishing area as they become available.  Please do not block access to the finish line as this disrupts racers who are completing their run.

The Overall winner of the event will be awarded a year's suppl of Chic-Fil-A provided by Chic-Fil-A Decatur.

The awards will be handed out at the end of the race.
