Turkey Gobbler Trail Run 2026

The Turkey Gobbler Trail Run, set for October 11, 2026, invites runners to kick off the Thanksgiving season with an invigorating outdoor adventure. Participants can choose from three distinct routes: an 8km trail run/walk challenging enough for seasoned athletes, a more leisurely 3.5 km option suitable for all levels and stroller-friendly families, or a fun-filled 1km course designed specifically for children.
This event marks the conclusion of the Sudbury Fitness Challenge series, offering participants not only physical activity but also community engagement and support for local sports teams. Proceeds from the race go directly to the Walden Nordic Race Team, helping them continue their training year-round in various terrains across northern Ontario.
For those interested in commemorating this event with a keepsake, t-shirts are included free of charge with entries into both the 8km and 3.5 km routes. However, for participants opting for the shorter family-friendly or kids' races, t-shirts can be purchased separately at an additional cost of $10.
Race kit pickup is available on Saturday, October 10th from 11am to 3pm at The Running Room, allowing ample time to prepare and ensure everything fits perfectly. Alternatively, packages will also be distributed race morning starting at the Walden Cross Country Fitness Club Ski Chalet as early as 7:30 am.
On Sunday, participants can look forward to a wave start format designed to accommodate all age groups and skill levels:
- The first group of runners tackling the 8km route will depart promptly at 9am.
- A dedicated kids' run/walk begins at 10:30 am for those aged under 12.
- Finally, the third wave welcoming both experienced trail enthusiasts and casual walkers embarking on the 3.5 km journey will commence at 11am.
