Turkey Day 5K

Monday, November 10, 2025 UPDATE:
Shirts have been ordered.  We ordered some extras based on previous participation counts.  Shirts are first come, first order basis.  Youth sizes are extremely limited - less than five available per size.  We also have just over 300 spots remaining.  We have to limit the number of participants due to the number of finisher medals that we order in the Summer.  We will keep updating this page as we get closer to the event.

The 16th Annual Turkey Day 5K in Sanford, Florida is back!!  Seminole County's largest Thanksgiving Day fun run is open to all participants - competitive runners, joggers and walkers as a great annual tradition for all families and friends.

And don't forget - Free Starbucks Coffee, Hot Chocolate and donuts from Sanford's own Donuts To Go. 

Turkey Day 5K In Person Costume Contest:
Come dressed in your favorite and most unique Thanksgiving Day costume.  Be sure to arrive early so that our judges can select our finalists by 7:35am.  At 7:40am, we will have the finalists gather by the starting corral where all of the participants in the race will vote by loudest applause for the overall winner.  The winner of the costume contest will received a $100 Visa gift card.  This contest is open to all registered participants with a race bib.

Timing and Scoring:
This fun run will be chip timed.  All registered runners will receive individual times.  Times will also be posted on the results board onsite as well as live results online.

Finisher Medals:
All participants will receive a finisher medal.

T-Shirts:
All runners registered by Monday, November 10th will be guaranteed their requested shirt size.  We will do our best to accommodate anyone registering after Monday, November 10th to get their requested shirt size, however shirt sizes may limited.

AWARDS:
We will have awards for the overall male and female winner and for the top three male and female winners in each of the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+.

Pre Race Packet Pick Up
Pre event packet pick up will be Monday, November 24th from 10:00am to 7:00pm,  Tuesday, November 25th from 10am to 7pm, and Wednesday, November 26th from 10am to 3pm at Front Running Sports located at 1061 S. Sun Drive, Unit 1097, Lake Mary, FL 32746.  If you are not able to make it to pick up early, you may have a friend or family member pick up for you.  No I.D. required.  Also, we will have your packet available for pick up the morning of the event at the event site starting at 7am

Everyone is Welcome:
This is an event for ALL levels to participate.  Runners, Walkers, and strollers and baby joggers are all welcome.

Event Beneficiary:
This event will benefit the The Sharing Center. The Sharing Center has become the most comprehensive social services hub in Seminole County. They believe in providing individuals and families with dignified solutions for members in our community facing hardships, hunger, and homelessness.  We ask ALL participants on race morning to bring some non perishable food to help stock their food pantry and feed those in need.  

Also, feel free to bring used running shoes.  This is VERY POPULAR each year and we were able to give out dozens of pairs of shoes to those in need. :)
