Child Wellbeing & Protection in Sport - Online Workshop
Wednesday, November 4, 2026 | 18:00-21:00 GMT
The Child Wellbeing & Protection in Sport workshop is a crucial training session for all individuals involved with children and young people within the sports community. Recognized by governing bodies across various sports disciplines as the standard benchmark for child protection, this comprehensive course equips participants with essential knowledge to safeguard minors effectively.
Participants will engage in an interactive online environment designed to mimic traditional face-to-face workshops but from the comfort of their own homes or offices. The session includes a preparatory module completed ahead of time through Brightspace and a live 3-hour webinar led by experienced tutors who facilitate discussions, answer questions, and guide participants through breakout sessions.
The workshop aims to enhance your understanding of child protection indicators, equip you with practical skills for addressing potential issues, and foster confidence in dealing sensitively and appropriately with any concerns that may arise. By the end of this training, attendees will be able to:
- Identify best practices in coaching and their implications.
- Reflect on personal values and emotions regarding child abuse and how they might affect your response.
- Recognize signs of potential harm and know how to respond effectively.
- Take decisive action if there are concerns about a child's welfare.
To participate, you will need access to a computer or tablet with a reliable internet connection. Two weeks prior to the event, participants receive an email from Brightspace containing enrollment details and instructions on accessing the virtual classroom via a web link provided by Triathlon Scotland. Make sure to check your spam folder as emails may be filtered there.
Completion of both modules is required for certification purposes. After attending the webinar, you must complete a survey within Brightspace to unlock your official Child Wellbeing & Protection in Sport certificate.
