Trail Urbain Besançon 2026

On November 7, 2026, Le TUB returns to Besançon with three distinct races catering to different levels of challenge and camaraderie. The Explore course offers an 8km run with 340m elevation gain, perfect for newcomers or those looking for a casual evening out at the Esplanade des Droits de l'Homme near the city's mairie on rue Mégevand. Departure is set for 19:30.
For more ambitious runners, the Express course stretches to 14km with an elevation gain of 657m and departs from the same starting point at 19:00. Both Explore and Express courses wind through the historic Parc Saint Etienne de la Citadelle, featuring a challenging "Citadel Hill" ascent.
The most demanding option is the Experience course, clocking in at 22km with an elevation gain of 1,000m, starting earlier at 18:45. This route also includes the steep climb through Parc Saint Etienne de la Citadelle and offers competitors a chance to vie for top honors across all categories.
Each race is part of the "LIP Himalaya" challenge, where runners can compete in various age groups for both male and female titles. Post-race amenities include artisanal pasta with organic tomato sauce and Comté cheese, provided at an additional cost, as well as a service to collect personal belongings during the run.
Participants will enjoy live music along the route and receive medical support upon finishing. The event is sanctioned by FFA, so only valid PPS licenses from 2026 are accepted; no medical certificates are required for registration. Trail running poles are permitted in all three races but must be used with consideration for fellow runners.
