Embrace the rugged charm of the Lauragais region at the 2026 Trail Du Ventolet, returning to Villefranche-de-Lauragais on Sunday, March 29, 2026. Organized by Villefranche Athlétisme Lauragais under the spirited motto "Never slower than full speed!", this event is a true celebration of trail running, hiking, and community. Centered around the historic Place Gambetta and the central hall, the race creates a festive atmosphere where elite athletes, casual hikers, and young runners gather to challenge the terrain and enjoy the local hospitality.

The 2026 program offers a diverse range of courses to satisfy every ambition. The morning kicks off at 09:00 AM with the "Ventada" (27 km), a technical challenge for endurance specialists. For those who prefer a team effort, the "Mièja" (15 km relay, 2x7 km) is a highlight of the day, featuring a dedicated trophy for the business or association with the highest participation. Individual runners can tackle the "Ventoleta" (15 km) at 10:00 AM or the faster "Pichona" (8 km) at 10:15 AM. Walkers aren't left behind, with the "Passejada" (10 km) non-timed hike departing at 09:30 AM, ensuring the scenic Lauragais paths are accessible to everyone.

In line with eco-responsible values, the Trail Du Ventolet is a zero-cup event; participants must bring their own hydration vessels for the trail, though a commemorative cup is provided for the finish-line festivities. Race day begins early with bib collection at 07:00 AM at the central hall. After crossing the finish line, runners are treated to a complimentary drink and can enjoy a post-race meal from on-site food trucks accompanied by live musical entertainment. From the free children's races at 10:30 AM to the final awards ceremony under the hall at 11:00 AM, the Trail Du Ventolet is the ultimate destination for a high-energy, family-friendly spring adventure.
