The Trail du Marguestaud returns on September 19th for its eighth edition, inviting runners to explore the lush forests surrounding Galembrun. Participants will set off and finish at the heart of the village square, weaving through dense woodland areas within Launac, Le Burgaud, Bellesserre, Drudas, and Pelleport. This year’s event features three timed races alongside two leisurely walking routes for those who prefer a more relaxed pace. The organizers encourage participants to embrace their creativity by dressing up in costumes, adding an element of fun and camaraderie to the day's festivities. Along the route, runners will enjoy lively aid stations that offer not only refreshments but also entertainment and celebration. This year’s edition is dedicated to supporting System Dys, a local association focused on educational musical projects for children, ensuring that participants contribute positively to their community while enjoying an unforgettable experience in nature. The event wouldn’t be possible without the tireless efforts of over 90 volunteers from Galembrun and surrounding areas who dedicate their time to make this day special. On race day, expect a vibrant atmosphere with nearly 800 people gathering in the village, creating a warm and welcoming environment for everyone involved. To round off the event, participants are invited to partake in a traditional meal featuring roast chicken served with potatoes and Brava sauce, accompanied by cheese, dessert, coffee, and other treats. This culinary delight provides an excellent opportunity to socialize and reflect on the day’s achievements over good food and company. The Trail du Marguestaud promises a blend of scenic beauty, community spirit, and memorable moments for all who participate or attend.
