The Trail du Facteur 2026 marks the 15th edition of this popular race, held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, in the town of Maxou. This event is named in honor of the historic postal carriers who once traversed these rugged paths on foot. Known for its technical difficulty and high percentage of single-track trails, the race challenges endurance and motivation while rewarding athletes with the stunning natural landscapes of the Lot department. For this anniversary edition, the organizers have introduced entirely new routes for the shorter distances to enhance the experience for returning participants.

Race Logistics and Participation

The event operates under a semi-self-sufficiency rule, meaning runners must carry enough water and nutrition to reach the next aid station. While the 23 km course features three refreshment points, the shorter races offer a single station. Participants are required to use either a valid FFA license or a Health Prevention Path (PPS) certificate for registration, as traditional medical certificates are no longer accepted. Walking poles are permitted across all distances, though dogs are strictly prohibited. In line with modern race management, all entries must be handled online via Chrono-Start or through postal mail before the Saturday deadline; no registrations are accepted on the morning of the race.
