Trail de l'Escarenoise

The Trail L’Escarénoise 2026 is a classic mountain running event celebrating its 24th edition in the rugged hinterland of the French Riviera. Scheduled for Sunday, May 3, 2026, in the village of L’Escarène, the race is located just 20 minutes (17 km) from Nice. Known for being both fast and technically demanding, the course showcases the diverse geological resources of the Paillon Valley, featuring slippery marl slopes and abrasive sandstone forest paths. The flagship 20 km distance is a prestigious fixture of the Challenge Trail 06 in the "Short Trail" category, drawing competitive athletes from across the Alpes-Maritimes department.

The event offers two main nature trails and two dedicated children's races. All events start and finish at the Place Camous, the central hub of the village festivities.

L’Escarène is a picturesque medieval village in the Alpes-Maritimes department, nestled in the Paillon Valley at the foot of the Col de Braus. It has a population of approximately 2,500 residents. Historically, the village was a vital stop on the "Salt Road" between Nice and Turin. Demographically, the population is predominantly French and European, with a mix of local families and professionals who commute to Nice or Monaco.
