About the Event

Trail and Ale 2026 returns to Sarnia in Ontario on Saturday, September 19th.
The event will commence at the Howard Watson Trail from Michigan Ave., a location that offers scenic views of Blackwell Trails as it winds through the city. Participants can expect to traverse this natural route with its varied terrain and surface conditions, perfect for both walkers and runners alike.
This is the seventh year in which residents and visitors have gathered to support Rayjon's cause. Over 1000 participants are expected, contributing significantly towards education, health care, and women’s empowerment projects in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The event not only brings communities together but also provides a unique opportunity for individuals to make a tangible difference.
The race offers a range of distances suitable for all ages: newcomers can enjoy either the 5K or Kids K (free with an adult registration), while more seasoned runners will find challenges in the 10K and 15K.

Race start times are staggered: runners from 8:30 to 9:30 AM, with walkers beginning at 9:00 AM on the Howard Watson Trail. The course layout includes a mix of flat and undulating sections that will test endurance and speed. There will be no aid stations due to the nature of outdoor trail running.
Weather conditions for race day are expected to feel cool but comfortable. Temperatures in Sarnia typically range from 14.5°C at minimum to 22.6°C, with an average temperature around 18.5°C. The humidity is high, reaching up to 78.6%, which will make the air slightly muggy and potentially affect performance.
To register visit https://raceroster.com/events/2026/114716/trail-and-ale-2026 by August 31st for early bird pricing, or until sold out. Race kits can be picked up at the Refined Fool brewery on September 18th from 3 to 7 PM; those unable to attend may collect their kit and beer before race day.
Participants are encouraged to arrive thirty minutes prior to their designated start time. The event supports a cause that is close to home, making it an essential part of Sarnia’s social calendar. By participating in Trail and Ale 2026, you contribute not only to the local community but also to global efforts aimed at improving lives through education, health care, and women's empowerment.

It is adjacent the Canada-United States border follows the St. Clair River. On the opposite side of the river is Port Huron.
