The Tour de Ramps returns to Lake Monroe for its fourth edition on September 12, 2026. Organized by the Bloomington Bicycle Club and run entirely by volunteers, this unique cycling event offers cyclists an opportunity to explore the scenic beauty of Lake Monroe while challenging themselves with a series of boat ramps scattered along the route. Participants can choose between enjoying a leisurely ride around the lake or opting for a more adventurous approach that involves visiting each of the 10 designated boat ramps. The course, which winds through picturesque landscapes and past serene waters, provides both seasoned cyclists and casual riders an engaging experience tailored to their preferences. Registration includes access to sag stops and on-course SAG vehicles equipped with minor mechanical assistance throughout the day. Cyclists can start anytime between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM, ensuring a flexible schedule for all participants. The event concludes by 4:00 PM, allowing ample time for riders to complete their chosen route. This year's Tour de Ramps supports local charity partner Friends of Lake Monroe, with proceeds going towards promoting cycling in and around Monroe County. Participants have the option to purchase T-shirts at registration; however, these must be picked up during check-in as they will not be mailed to no-shows. A special accolade awaits those who visit all 10 boat ramps, earning them a Ramps Champ award sticker to commemorate their achievement. The post-ride meal is included in the registration fee and serves as an excellent opportunity for riders to unwind, share stories, and enjoy good company after a day of cycling around Lake Monroe. Join us at the Tour de Ramps on September 12, 2026, for a memorable ride that combines scenic beauty with friendly competition.
