About the Event

The Run for Prevention is a chipped and timed 5K Family Run and Walk that is suitable for all ages and abilities. Run will be held at beautiful Babcock Ranch. Bring your family and friends, form a team, and support an extraordinary non-profit. Our course is stroller and pet friendly.

The largest team will win the JOSH TROPHY and bragging rights for the year!

The Run begins at 8:00 a.m.

Pre-Race Packet Pickup is January 30, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Titan Contracting, 2558 Fourth Street, Fort Myers, FL. Race day packet pickup is 7:00 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Founder's Square, Babcock Ranch.

T Shirts for the first 300 registrants. Team members receive a $5.00 discount. T shirts sizes are not guaranteed

This event will be held "rain or shine" with no refunds.

Awards will follow the end of the Run

First Place Male and Female

Awards to male and female, 3 deep, in the following age groups:

1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71 and Up

All proceeds from Run for Prevention support Drug House Odyssey, our Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) Prevention Clubs and drug and alcohol abuse prevention in Lee County. Drug Free Lee is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

About Babcock Ranch

Babcock Ranch is a planned community located in southeastern Charlotte County and northeastern Lee County, Florida, consisting of approximately 17,000 acres (6,900 ha). The community was named after Edward Vose Babcock, a lumber baron and former mayor of Pittsburgh, who purchased the land in 1914. The planned community was approved as part of a public-private partnership with the State of Florida and local governments. The deal established the neighboring Babcock Ranch Preserve. Construction on the Ranch began in 2016 and opened in 2018 as America’s first solar town.
