Get ready to lace up your running shoes and travel through time at the Through the Decades 5K!

This fun and festive 5K combines paved road running with the beauty of the local rail trail, creating a unique course experience for runners and walkers alike. The course includes both road and rail trail sections. Participants planning to use strollers should note that portions of the course take place on the rail trail.

From groovy 1970s disco 🪩 to radical 1980s neon 🎸, grunge 1990s fashion 🎧, and beyond, each mile will take you back in time. Dress in your favorite decade-inspired attire and enjoy music, costumes, and nostalgia from past eras along the course.

Whether you're a seasoned runner, casual walker, or participating with family and friends, this event is perfect for all ages and experience levels.

🎭 Dress to impress! Costume prizes will be awarded for each decade.

🚜 All proceeds benefit the Sugar River Valley FFA Chapter and will help support students attending the National FFA Convention.

🌞 This race is part of the Sunshine Circuit Series.

About Newport

Newport is a town in and the county seat of Sullivan County, New Hampshire, United States. It is 43 miles (69 km) west-northwest of Concord, the state capital. The population of Newport was 6,299 at the 2020 census. A covered bridge is in the northwest. The area is noted for maple sugar and apple orchards. Prior to county division in 1827, Newport was in Cheshire County. The central part of town, where 4,735 people resided at the 2020 census, is defined as the Newport census-designated place (CDP) and is located next to the Sugar River at the junction of New Hampshire routes 10 and 11. The town also includes the villages of Kelleyville, Guild, and North Newport.
