Thirsty Thursday 5K Series

The Thirsty Thursday 5K Series returns for 2026, featuring a monthly pub run series held from April through October in Defiance, Missouri. Presented by Fleet Feet St. Louis and Good News Brewing Company, the event combines professional chip-timed racing with a social atmosphere. The first race of the season kicks off on Thursday, April 23, 2026, utilizing an "open start" format between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM to accommodate commuters and reduce check-in congestion.

Race Experience and Loyalty Program

New for the 2026 season, the series has introduced age-group leaderboards and a Loyalty Program. Runners who register for four or more dates in the 2026 series earn a discount code for remaining 2026 events and a secondary discount for the 2027 season. While individual races do not have standalone award ceremonies, a yearly leaderboard is maintained; following the final October race, top male and female finishers in each age category (ranging from "19 & Under" to "70 & Over") receive gift cards to Fleet Feet. Post-race, participants can gather on the brewery's patio for a pizza buffet and extended bar hours.

Course Logistics and Sustainability

The 5K course runs northeast along the flat, scenic Katy Trail before turning back to finish near the brewery parking lot. In line with environmental efforts, the event offers commemorative carbon-neutral t-shirts made from recycled plastic bottles. There are no on-course aid stations, so runners are responsible for carrying their own hydration. Packet pickup, including bib distribution, begins at 4:30 PM on each race date at the Start 2 Finish tent. While well-behaved dogs are welcome at the brewery, they are not permitted to run on the race course.
