Get ready for an unforgettable fall adventure at the 2nd annual Trailwagger, set to take place on October 10th within Gilbert Lake State Park. This year’s event continues its partnership with Super Heroes Humane Society and The Clark Sports Center Events team, promising a day filled with scenic routes and community spirit.
Trailwagger offers runners of all levels the opportunity to explore some of the most picturesque trails in New York's fall landscape. Participants can choose from four distinct divisions: a 3-mile run/walk that combines paved roads within Gilbert Lake State Park with its winding woodland paths, or opt for the more challenging 5-mile trail run which showcases stunning views of ponds and creeks along the way.
For those seeking an extended challenge, combining both distances creates an 8-mile course that fully immerses runners in the park's diverse terrain. The event also features a two-person team division where each member runs either one of the individual courses to complete the full distance together.
Adding to the fun and inclusivity, Trailwagger welcomes four-legged companions with a special stroll around Gilbert Lake for dogs accompanied by their human partners. All participating pups receive a matching bandana as part of this heartwarming addition to the event.
Registration opens early, allowing participants who sign up before September 27th to secure an exclusive event T-shirt and support Super Heroes Humane Society in their mission to provide essential services to pets and caretakers across the region. Late registrants can still enjoy a virtual option that includes a race shirt upon request within the cut-off period.
Super Heroes Humane Society, based in Oneonta, NY, is dedicated to offering animal sheltering alongside crucial community programs such as a free pet food pantry and low-cost spay/neuter services for cats. By participating or supporting Trailwagger, you contribute directly to enhancing these vital initiatives that benefit both animals and their communities.
