The Thin Blue Line Run 5K

Join us for the Tenth Annual Thin Blue Line Run on October 24, 2026, at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police and Fire Training Academy. This year's event is part of the Charlotte's Finest Legacy Foundation’s ongoing commitment to honor Officers Sean Clark and Jeff Shelton, who were tragically lost in service on April 1st, 2007.
The Thin Blue Line Run offers a unique blend of community support and physical challenge with its 5K course. Participants can choose between running, walking, or rucking as they navigate the scenic grounds of the training academy. The event is designed to raise funds for the foundation while also fostering a sense of unity among participants who share a respect for law enforcement.
For those looking to add an extra layer of challenge to their experience, there are special ruck divisions where runners carry weighted backpacks throughout the course. This option not only tests physical endurance but also pays tribute to the rigorous training and responsibilities faced by police officers every day.
The event promises a supportive atmosphere with fellow participants, family members, and friends coming together to celebrate the lives of Officers Clark and Shelton while raising awareness for their legacy foundation. With its rich history and meaningful purpose, the Thin Blue Line Run continues to be an inspiring annual gathering in Charlotte.
Join us on October 24th as we come together to support our community's heroes and uphold a tradition that honors those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
