The Showdown - Bikes 4 Kids, an exhilarating mountain bike endurance challenge set for November 7, 2026, invites cyclists of all skill levels to take on Usery Mountain Regional Park near Mesa, Arizona. This year’s event features a unique Le Mans-style start and offers solo, duo, quad divisions as well as men's and women's one-lap and two-lap categories. Participants will pedal through the scenic trails of Usery Mountain, navigating rugged terrain that includes rocky climbs and descents. The race is designed for both competitive cyclists aiming to claim top honors in various cash prize categories and casual riders looking for a fun-filled day outdoors. Competitors can expect thrilling segments like the new mystery course experience and the chance to hit the kicker at the finish line. The event not only celebrates cycling but also supports charitable causes through FE Racing, with proceeds from the race contributing to a bike giveaway in spring 2025. Additional highlights include free kids races for ages six and under on circular courses and for children aged six to ten racing an out-and-back course. Both categories offer prizes based on performance. Off-course activities are also plentiful, including random acts of skill competitions every hour with prizes awarded to participants and spectators alike. There will be multiple dance-offs throughout the day and a beer garden courtesy of 12West Brewery. The event encourages creativity through costume contests for racers both on and off course as well as in pit area decor. Registration fees vary based on age groups and timing, offering discounts early in summer to those who sign up by September 30th. Race packets can be picked up at Specialized Bike on Friday before the race or Saturday morning from 8:00 am to 9:30 am near the horse staging area. Camping is available within shared group camp sites for $25 a night, with trailer and tent spaces limited to max capacity of 25. Parking will be restricted to one car per team in designated areas like the horse lot or trailhead staging; additional parking options include A/B campground, Cholla Campground, picnic areas, and pullouts. Timing is provided by Mangled Momentum, ensuring accurate results for all participants. The race concludes at 6:00 pm with awards presented to winners followed by a celebratory party atmosphere where everyone can rest and relax after the day's events.
