The "Fastest" Route in the City
The course is specifically engineered for speed, featuring long, straight stretches with 97.4% of the surface consisting of smooth asphalt. Organizers highlight that the route has significantly fewer turns than traditional city races, making it "faster than the Copenhagen Half Marathon." Key landmarks along the route include the Little Mermaid, Amalienborg Palace, Nyhavn, and the "Kissing Bridge" (Inderhavnsbroen). The race concludes in the spectacular surroundings of the Royal Arena, just 10 minutes from the metro and Copenhagen Airport.
Elite and Professional Standards
The event attracts high-level international talent, including confirmed participants like World Record holder Christian Olsen (PB 1:09:33) and Sylvia Kiberenge (PB 1:10:42). To secure an Elite A starting position, men must have a verified time of 1:06:00 or better, and women 1:16:00 or better, achieved between January 2025 and April 2026. The course is fully closed to traffic, ensuring a safe and uninterrupted environment for all 3,200+ currently registered participants.

Learn more about the host city, Copenhagen.
Copenhagen is the capital city of Denmark and forms the moderate conurbation that one million Danes call home. It is big enough to form a small Danish metropolis, with shopping, culture and nightlife par excellence, yet small enough still to feel intimate and be safe. Although mixed in its urban scene, the city is easy to navigate. Overlooking the Øresund Strait, connected to Sweden by a 15-km bridge-tunnel. Copenhagen serves as a cultural and geographic link between the Nordic countries and central Europe. Copenhagen is where old fairy tales blend with flashy modern architecture and world-class design; where warm jazz mixes with crisp electronica from Copenhagen's basements. You could feel you have seen all of Copenhagen in one day, but further exploration will keep you discovering more for months.
