Experience one of the UK’s most spectacular ultra events along Northumberland's breathtaking coastline. The 100km Northumberland Ultra Trail offers runners an unforgettable journey from Bamburgh Castle to Tynemouth Priory, passing through some of England's iconic landmarks. The route winds past Beadnell Harbour and Dunstanburgh Castle, with each mile revealing more of the region’s rich history and stunning coastal vistas. As you near the finish line, you’ll traverse Seaton Sluice, Whitley Bay, and Cullercoats before an epic conclusion through Tynemouth Priory's ancient gates. This fully supported event features extensive medical coverage, marshals at key points, and six well-stocked feed stations along the way. These include Low Newton, Boulmer, Warkworth Beach, Druridge Bay, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, and a new location in Blyth. Each station provides VOOM Bars, hydration packs, fruit, sweets, chocolate, and savory snacks to keep you fueled throughout your journey. To ensure safety, runners must carry essential items such as water/fluids, a charged mobile phone with emergency contacts (ICE), food/gels, a headtorch for late finishers after 9pm, and a lightweight jacket. The race starts between 6:00-7:30 am based on expected finishing times. All participants will be tracked throughout the event, allowing loved ones to follow their progress via dot watches. A bag drop is available at registration with all bags transported to the finish line for you upon completion of your run. Upon crossing the finish line at Tynemouth Priory, enjoy a celebration that includes an exclusive metal medal and unique merchandise commemorating this historic journey, along with food and drinks to replenish after such a long and rewarding adventure.
