Race Description: NOT Your Typical Backyard Ultra This isn’t your average backyard ultra. In fact, it flips the format entirely. Most backyard races demand runners complete a loop every hour — no more, no less — until only one is left. But in this race, the clock is your ally… and then suddenly, it’s not. You’ll run a 3.1-mile (5K) loop on repeat. What makes it different? The time limit changes. It starts with 40 minutes to complete your first loop. Then the next loop gives you 45 minutes. Then 50. Then 55. Then 60. Just when it starts to feel a bit easier… the clock resets back to 40 minutes. From there, the cycle begins again: 40 → 45 → 50 → 55 → 60 → reset… and so on. This format continues until there’s only one runner left. But finishing isn’t guaranteed. The last runner standing must complete one final loop solo within the current time limit. Fail to finish in time, and the race ends with no winner. This event blends strategy, endurance, and mental toughness in a format that rewards patience — but punishes hesitation. Runners must decide when to push, when to recover, and how to adapt as the clock shifts beneath their feet. Quick Facts: Loop Distance: 3.1 miles (5K) Time Format: Increases from 40 → 45 → 50 → 55 → 60 minutes, then resets Elimination: Miss the cutoff, you're out Final Rule: One runner must complete a solo loop within the time limit to claim victory This is not your typical ultra. This is a race where time gives... then takes. Where the strategy is as important as the speed. Where only one can finish — and even that’s not guaranteed. Are you ready to test your limits?
