There’s only one official winner. But the race belongs to everyone.
We are excited for our second year, and The Common Last One Standing is a race built for every kind of runner the first-timers, the comeback stories, the weekend grinders, and the experienced marathoners chasing something deeper.
There is one winner, but there are thousands of reasons to run.
This is your race your pace, your distance, your breakthrough.
HOW IT WORKS:
The race begins at 8:00 AM on Saturday
Runners must be in the designated start corral before the next loop begins. Any runner outside of the corral is eliminated.
At the start of each hour, runners will be given a warning at 3, 2, and 1 minute before the bell. Runners must promptly cross the starting line to begin their loop.
Every runner completes the same 0.69-mile loop course 6 times, for a total of 4.167 miles. The distance of each loop (aka “yard”) is equal to 100 miles divided by 24 hours.
The new lap/yard begins promptly at the start of each hour. Runners must begin their next lap at that time.
Once a runner is on course, they may not leave the course except to use the restroom.
Once a loop begins, runners are not permitted to receive any aid from crew or spectators (only what is provided by the race director).
Whatever is on your person at the start of the loop must remain on you or in your possession and return with you to the finish of the loop.
During nighttime hours, runners are required to wear a headlamp or carry a flashlight.
You can do one loop or two, a half marathon, a full marathon, or keep going as long as your body and mind allow.
After the 24-hour (100-mile) mark, a format called “Fast One Standing” will begin.
“Fast One Standing” is a format in which the slowest runner to complete the loop within the hour is eliminated.
The race will continue in this format until there is only one runner left standing, who will be crowned “The Last One Standing.”
WHEN ARRIVING ON RACE DAY
Runner Check-In
Check-in opens at 3:00 PM.
Upon arrival, present your ticket QR code to a volunteer.
You will receive a welcome packet that includes your bib, t-shirt, parking pass, and two crew member wristbands.
Crew members must be present at arrival to receive and immediately wear their wristbands (non-transferable).
If crew members arrive later, they must park in spectator parking ($10) and can then meet you for wristbands and access to your camping/setup area.
WHEN ARRIVING ON-SITE:
You will be directed to your 10x30 designated parking space, which can be used for your tent and crew setup.
Consider this your personal fuel station.
Spaces are first come, first served, from closest to the starting line to furthest away.
Once your crew area is set up, it cannot be moved, and you must remain in your assigned space so arrive early.
WHY WE DO IT
This race is about discovering your physical and mental limits—pushing beyond what you thought was possible.
It’s about showing up.
It’s about pushing yourself and others past the version of you that said “not yet.”
It’s about proving that your race is yours alone and nobody can run it for you.
Some people will come to win.
Some will run their first-ever race.
Others will surprise themselves and go farther than they ever imagined.
You might sign up planning to run one round.
But once you feel the energy, you may find yourself staying in longer than you ever thought possible.
You run your race.
We’ll bring the energy.

Learn more about the host city, York.
York is a city in the Susquehanna Valley region of southern Pennsylvania. It is billed as the "factory tour capital of the world" for its numerous factory tours. It was a major city in U.S. revolutionary history as well, hosting the Continental Congress for a time. It is often viewed by locals as the first capital of the United States but it is unsure if this is actually true because it was never officially named the capital and it was only viewed as the capital because the Articles of Confederation were adopted in the York County Courthouse.
