The Lake Triathlon Series returns to Cromhall Quarry, South Gloucestershire, just off Junction 14 of the M5, for five sprint-distance races throughout summer 2026. This midweek series offers athletes an exceptional blend of competition and camaraderie in a picturesque setting. Each race features a challenging but manageable distance: a 750-meter open water swim in the pristine quarry lake, followed by a scenic 18-kilometer bike ride on local roads, concluding with a vigorous 5-kilometer run through the quarry itself. This unique venue provides not only stunning natural beauty but also top-notch safety and support. Registration includes chip timing for accurate results, podium medals to celebrate your achievements, secure transition areas with numbered racking, professional first aid services, clean changing facilities, and public liability insurance. Participants will receive a free swim hat as an added bonus. The series kicks off on Wednesday, May 13th, continuing monthly through August before culminating in the finale on Saturday, September 12th. Each event begins with registration at 7:30 AM, followed by a race briefing and start times divided by gender to ensure fair competition. Males will commence racing at 8:45 AM, while females follow shortly after. Competitors can earn points towards the overall series title through consistent participation across all five races. The first-place male and female in each event receive well-deserved recognition with awards and medals on-site. Cromhall Quarry's crystal-clear waters offer a rare opportunity to swim in one of Britain’s cleanest open-water sites, enhancing both safety and enjoyment for athletes. With its welcoming atmosphere and ideal midweek format, the series caters equally to seasoned triathletes looking to fine-tune their skills as well as newcomers eager to experience their first sprint-distance event. Join The Lake Triathlon Series this summer and make 2026 your most successful season yet in one of South Gloucestershire’s premier sporting venues.
