The Hardmoors 60, scheduled for Saturday, September 19th, 2026, is set to start at 8:00 AM from the Guisborough Rugby Club. Located on Belmangate in TS14 7BB, this event promises a challenging yet scenic run through the North York Moors. Registration begins promptly at 6:30 AM and concludes by 7:45 AM for all participants to ensure they are ready for the day's adventure. Each runner will receive a tracker as part of their race entry, which can be shared with friends or family via an online link provided in advance. This feature not only enhances safety but also allows supporters to track your progress throughout the event. For those traveling from Filey, a coach departs at 6:00 AM on West Avenue Car Park (YO14 9BE). It's crucial for participants to arrive by 5:50 AM to ensure they catch the bus. Upon registration, runners will undergo a mandatory kit check. Essential items include waterproof clothing with taped seams, headlamps, maps of Cleveland Way or OS Maps, whistles, survival bags, and mobile phones. All these must be carried during the race. Competitors are allowed two non-returnable drop bags for essentials like food, gels, socks, or additional layers at specific checkpoints: Runswick Bay (21 miles) and Ravenscar (40 miles). Drop bags should not exceed the size of a supermarket carrier bag. Clearly label each with your name and which checkpoint it corresponds to. Cut-off times are strictly enforced for safety reasons; failure to adhere could result in disqualification. Support crews are only permitted from Scarborough to the finish line, ensuring that other checkpoints remain free of non-essential personnel. Relay teams must consist of a minimum of two runners and can have up to four members. Each team member is required to pass through at least one checkpoint during their leg of the race. Relay teams should be prepared with unique equipment requirements tailored for multi-runner participation. The route follows OS Maps OL26/OL27 (Western and Eastern North York Moors) and OS301 (Scarborough/Filey), offering a mix of challenging terrain, breathtaking views, and historical landmarks along the Cleveland Way. Participants have the option to purchase XCover insurance for peace of mind in case unforeseen circumstances prevent them from attending. The Hardmoors 60 is not just about endurance; it’s an immersive experience through one of England's most picturesque landscapes.
