The Hallora Marathon Festival was established in 2015 by Daniel, the event’s president, as a way to raise funds for Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre; a cause close to his heart.
The idea for the event was inspired by Daniel’s friend Sarah, who was diagnosed with leukemia and spent a significant amount of time at Peter Mac during her recovery.
Daniel’s Pa was also diagnosed with the disease, and passed away, after suffering prostate cancer.
These personal experiences, along with the stories of many others, have driven the ongoing commitment to host the Hallora Marathon Festival each year.
We aim is to raise funds that can provide people like Sarah and Daniel’s Pa with the best possible treatment, helping them live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
EVENT DAY INFO:
Our 24km and 42km events begin at Hallora Recreation Reserve.
Our 16km, 8km, 5km and Kid Dash events start at Western Park in Warragul.
The finish line for all events is at Western Park in Warragul.
Our Event Hub at Western Park will feature: music, MCs, merchandise, food, drinks, a community BBQ fundraiser run by The Pharaoh’s Angels and so much more to enjoy and refuel after the races are complete.
The community buzz of all the spectators really assists in getting everyone over the finish line.
