The Great Mamba Hike is a fully supported endurance hike set on the scenic trails of Shelby Farms Park in Memphis, Tennessee—designed for everyone from first-time hikers to seasoned distance athletes. Whether you’re stepping into your first double-digit miles or pushing all the way to a marathon distance, this event gives you the opportunity to challenge yourself and see what you’re capable of.
Participants can choose from three distances: a 10-mile, 20-mile, or full 26.2-mile marathon hike, each offering a unique level of difficulty and accomplishment. All distances begin at Beaver Lake Cove, with the 20-mile and marathon routes finishing there as well. The 10-mile route will finish at the Wolf River Refuge Trailhead, and shuttle transportation will be provided back to Beaver Lake Cove.
This is an untimed event focused on the experience rather than the clock, but generous course cutoffs are in place to keep the event running smoothly: participants will have 5 hours to complete the 10-mile distance and 10 hours to complete both the 20-mile and 26.2-mile marathon distances. There is no pressure to race—just keep moving forward.
Along the course, hikers will be supported with aid stations providing water, electrolytes, trail snacks, and select food options, along with volunteers to help keep you going. Every participant will receive a premium long sleeve performance shirt and a custom finisher medal specific to their distance, making the accomplishment something you’ll remember long after the day is over.
Whether you’re starting with 10 miles or going all the way to 26.2, The Great Mamba Hike is your chance to step outside your comfort zone and complete something most people never attempt.
