The Essex County Cider Donut Dirt Randonnée 2026

Embark on a unique cycling journey through Essex County, connecting some of the most beloved cider donut spots along rugged trails and challenging routes. The adventure spans approximately 100 miles for those up for the full challenge or around 50 miles for a more manageable yet equally rewarding experience.
The Full Route (~100 miles) is designed to test endurance on varied terrain, including rail trails, fire roads, mountain bike paths, sand, and mud. Expect unpredictable sections that defy easy categorization. Riders should anticipate an 8-10 hour day with several stops for cider donuts along the way. Preparation is key: train your legs but more importantly, ensure you have a hearty appetite.
The Short Route (~50 miles) offers similar terrain variety in half the distance, typically completed within about four hours. Both routes start and finish at Munroe Velo in Topsfield, Massachusetts, with detailed route information sent out prior to the event date.
Participants are encouraged to arrive by 7:30 am for a prompt departure at 8:00 am. This self-supported ride is not a race but an adventure through scenic landscapes and quirky paths that Essex County has to offer. The day promises camaraderie among cyclists, with refreshments provided throughout the journey.
Your $15 entry fee goes towards covering essential event costs such as insurance, porta potties, beer, pizza, and other logistical necessities, ensuring a smooth experience for all participants. Join us on October 11, 2026, for one of our favorite rides of the year.
